Ett kristet försök att kränka all skönhet?

Den svenska popgruppen Freestyles “Rider omkring” var länge en floorfiller på synthdiscon på Kolingsborg i Stockholm och tillsammans med “White Wedding” ett av få breddinslag i vår rörelses sunt (läs synth) stränga estetik. Jag köpte Freestyles andra album “Modiga Agenter” på kassett 1982 och tycker alltjämt att “Ögon som glittrar” är en av de bästa svenska låtarna med älskogsstön som någonsin producerats. Helt i klass med mästerverket i genren, Serge Gainsbourg och Jane Birkins, “Je t’aime (moi non plus)”.

“Modiga agenter” var ett 80-talssynthpopigt hyggligt välproducerat andraalbum som från en svensk horisont kongenialt fångade det sena 80-talets pastellfärgade tidsanda. Döm av min förvåning när ingenting av Freestyles skönt hedonistiska stön och nödrimshitar återfinns i duon Modiga Agenters fatabur. Trots lovande knull-eufemistiska titlar som “Dricka te” så händer (lång konstpaus) – ingenting! Fredrik Andreasson sjunger i näsan, ibland, otäckt nog, till och med med visst vibrato, som en ung Per Gessle. Men inte erbjuds det några TV2-flickor att åtrå. Det är gymnasialt, i ordets uslaste bemärkelse, i såväl takt som ton. Och inte erbjuder “2001” något rymdäventyr heller! Man tror det är skapat av TV4-barnteveprogramledaren Mogge efter att han fått sin första synth.

Albumet är inget mindre än ett hån mot synthens allvarsamma lek och des Pudelns Kern i vår svarta estetik. En krigsförklaring från slem svensktopp och modern dansbandsmusik, av den typ som idag produceras av tunnhåriga hårdrockare till melodifestivaler. 2001 är standardkristen pop, modell 1A. Det är lika vidrigt som Arvingarna. Man vill tidigt ta till Kartellenvåld och värre. Det är sämre än Onkel Kånkels samlade låghet. Det gör lika ont i själen att lyssna på Moderna Agenter som att se en Colin Nutley-film.
