Future Lied to Us är här och alla som dyrkar den här genren kommer knappast bli besvikna, tvärtom!

Lovers of the genre will hardly be disapointed
Disperse now – all modern synth- and future pop haters! Vasi Vallis (from Frozen Plasma, NamNamBulu and Reaper), Krischan Wesenberg (Rotersand) and Thomas Lesczensky (from, among others, SITD and Dynasty) have now merged together in the new form of the trio Future Lied to Us.
The German mass of acts in the synth- and future pop genre can sometimes convey the impression of being hard to digest. And the matter of fact is that it’s just what it is, alteast for some parts. But just as everyone knows when it comes to all sorts of tasting menus, the goodies eventuellay turn up, which means that the frequently-used standard argument “everything has already been done before” have to wait atleast in this case.
By that being said, Future Lied to Us hardly carries out any sort of musical revolution on the band’s first album Presence. The trio borrows shamelessy from the genre’s greatest authors, such as VNV Nation and Apoptygma Berzerk. The third track “Drops of Silver” is perhaps the most obvious example and whether you choose to interpret it as a tribute or a small theft of Apoptygma Berzerk’s “Paranoia” I guess is up to each and every one of you. Nevertheless, this collective’s long-standing experience of both good production- and songwriting skills shines strongly through most of the tracks.
Catchy bridges and choruses convey both dazzling joyous dreamlike and thoughtful melancholy surrounded by sprawling and meticulously well-polished packages packed with electronic goodies. Several tracks contain those modern smart features like the ones that acts like Seabound and X-Marks the Pedwalk have been adept at creating in recent years, everything spiced with bits and pieces of the electronic eighties electronic pop sound. Presence is decorated in a modern and detailed soundstage, where edgy and well-ventilated dance floor shots are fired to then meet their counterparts in sparkling, magnificent and atmospheric synth pop songs. “Embrace the World” is a nicely produced song typical of this genre while the melancholic “Faces” represents the more sensitive and emotional elements of the album, and although the song material on Presence dips here and there, in general it contains strong tracks as a whole.
Everyone who loves modern synth- and future pop – look over here! Future Lied to Us have arrived and everyone who loves and worships this genre will hardly be disappointed, on the contrary!
