Martin L. Gore – vars senaste soloutflykt gjordes 2003 med albumet “Counterfeit²“ är nu aktuell med ett nytt soloprojekt. Senaste gången han tog ett eget steg ifrån legendariska Depeche Mode var för tre år sedan tillsammans med den forne bandkompisen, Yazoo– och Erasure-bekante Vince Clarke och samarbetet som utmynnade i  albumet “Ssss” under duons gemensamma moniker VCMG.

Den 27e april presenterar den brittiske låtskrivaren – under initialerna MG – det sexton spår långa instrumentalalbumet “MG”. Albumet började ta form direkt efter avslutandet av “Delta Machine”-tour i mars 2014.

Martin berättar mer om albumet

“I wanted to keep the music very electronic, very filmic and give it an almost sci-fi like quality. Music is a necessity for me. I go into the studio at least 5 days a week, every week, so once I had the idea and the template, the process was quick and fun. As a songwriter, I am aware of the power of words, especially when they are juxtaposed in the right way with chords and melody. I am also aware of the power of pure music and the emotions that can be created by musical atmospheres and that is what I wanted to capture with this project.”

Martin L. Gore har sedan tidigare släppt bl.a “Counterfeit EP” från 1989 samt nyss nämnda “Counterfeit²“.

“MG” släpps den 27 april via Mute Records.
