Tio år av kvalitet före kvantitet
Kvalitet före kvantitet har alltid varit Progress Productions slogan och ingenting kunde vara mer berättigat när man nu firar tio år som skivbolag.
Den Göteborgsbaserade etiketten med Torny Gottberg i spetsen har under de här tio åren hållit ett nästan overkligt högt snitt på sina skivsläpp. Det gäller både när man handplockat och släppt skivor med mer etablerade akter och (i synnerhet) när man med fantastisk fingertoppskänsla har lanserat nya diton. Genidragen har varit många och i flera fall har man också satsat på artister som inte speciellt många andra trodde på.
När man nu i samband med tioårsfesten presenterar 28-spårs samlingen “10 Years Anniversary Compilation” råder inget undantag: Bortsett från ett par alternativa, tidigare en outgivna versioner och remixer, så är det genomgående exklusivt och starkt material som presenteras här. Alla akter som presenteras har enligt uppgift spelat in unika spår enbart till den här samlingen och dipparna är genomgående oerhört få.
Bland höjdpunkterna på den första CD:n finner vi bland annat Henric de la Cours kraftfulla och på svenska framförda “Venen”, en ovanligt dansant och fartfylld electropopdänga från Delaykliniken, Wulfbands passande “Was Für Ein Fest!” som mycket väl hade platsat på bandets debutalbum utan problem, en ny stark låt från Grekiska Iambia och en splitterny och stenhård dansgolvsrökare från 8kHz Mono.
Den andra CD:n starkare nummer finns sedan representerade i Agent Side Grinders moderna Joy Division-doftande “This is Us”, en ny dänga från Spark! med Spetsnaz-bekantingen Pontus Stålberg vid mikrofonen, nya starka låtar från The New Division, Kite, Children Within och sist men inte minst en blytung version av Stürm Cafes “Der Grosse Schwein” signerad Terror Punk Syndicate.
Progress Productions levererar kvalitet före kvalitet och inget som helst undantag råder på den här samlingen.

Ten years of quality above quantity
Quality above quantity has always been Progress Productions slogan and nothing could be more justified when they now celebrates ten years as a record company.
The Gothenburg-based label fronted by Torny Gottberg has during these ten years kept an almost unrealistic high standard on it’s releases. That comes to both the cases where they’ve hand picked and released records with more established acts and when they’ve with a fantastic touch have launched their newcomers. The genius features have been many down the line and in several cases they’ve also gone all in on bands and artists that noone else believed in in the first place.
And when they now in time for their 10 year celebration present the 28-track collection “10 Years Anniversary Collection” there make no exceptions: Aside from a couple of alternative, but still previously unreleased remixes and versions, there are constantly exclusive and strong material presented here. We’re told that all the represented acts have composed new songs only for this collection and the lowpoints are very few.
Among the highlights of the first CD we find Henric de la Cour‘s powerful (and swedish) “Venen”, an unusually danceable and energetic electropop-stunner from Delaykliniken, Wulfband‘s for the occation very fitting “Was Für Ein Fest!” that would easily have made it’s place onto their debut album, a strong new song from Greek Iambia and a brand new and fierce dancefloor smoker from 8kHz Mono.
The second CD’s stronger tracks are the represented in Agent Side Grinder‘s modern and Joy Division-inspired “This Is Us”, a new wallop from Spark! with Spetsnaz-acquaintance Pontus Stålberg at the microphone, new strong songs from The New Division, Kite, Children Within, and last but not least a leaden version of Stürm Cafe‘s “Der Grosse Schwein” signed Terror Punk Syndicate.
Progress Productions deliver quality above quantity and no exception whatsoever is made on this compilation.
