Brittiska Pet Shop Boys släpper inom kort ytterligare en best-of samling – “Ultimate Pet Shop Boys”. Släppet föregås av helt nyskrivna singeln “Together” producerad av Tim Powell, före detta medlem i Xenomania Production Team. Tim har tidigare, förutom Pet Shop Boys även skrivit material till bland andra båda systrarna Minogue , Cher och Sugarbabes. “Together” kommer släppas som singel, releasedatum är inte fastställt i skrivande stund.

Utöver den vanliga CD-utgåvan släpps “Ultimate Pet Shop Boys” även i en specialutgåva med en bonus-DVD innehållande hela 27 av bandets uppträdanden i det klassiska TV-programmet Top Of The Pops. Utöver detta innehåller DVD’n även bandets hela konsert från Glastonbury Festivalen förra sommaren.

Bandet själva är inte direkt inblandade i samlingen, som sköts helt och håller av skivbolaget EMI och meddelar via sin twitter; “Samlingen är tydligen riktad mot impulsköparen som vill ha en CD med diverse Pet Shop Boys-hits. Existerar verkligen dessa? EMI verkar i alla fall tro det.”

Andra intressanta nyheter är att bandet även släpper musiken man komponerade till baletten “The Most Incredible Thing” i en dubbel-CD under Mars 2011.

Noterbart när det gäller samlingen är att fansen nog inte serden som speciellt “ultimat” då flera av bandets mest kända låtar saknas som “Rent”, “Opportunities (Let’s Make Lots Of Money)” med flera.

In other news, PSB will release a 2CD score next March for “The Most Incredible Thing” ballet.
